The president of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski, has made his participation in the G20 summit, scheduled for November in Indonesia, subject to the situation in his country, as well as to the participants in the meeting.

The Ukrainian head of state received this Wednesday in the capital, kyiv, the visit of his Indonesian counterpart, Joko Widodo, who had previously communicated the invitation to Zelenski and the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, to participate in the summit.

Widodo and Putin had a telephone conversation at the end of April in which the Russian president confirmed his intention to attend the meeting, while Zelensky pointed in the same direction this Wednesday, although with certain conditions.

“I appreciate the personal invitation to participate in the G20 summit. Of course I accept the invitation. Ukraine’s participation will depend on the security situation in Ukraine and the composition of the summit participants,” Zelensky said, according to the agency. UNIAN news.

As president of the G20 –divided by the ongoing conflict–, Indonesia has opted to remain neutral in the face of the Russian invasion of Ukraine and has not condemned Moscow’s violation of the neighboring country’s sovereignty.
