Travis Scott stopped his concert at Coney Island on Monday to ensure the safety of fans after his Astroworld Deadly Show in November, it was labeled as a “mass casualty event.”
The 31-year-old “Sicko Mode” rapper was performing at Coney Art Walls with Meek Mill when fans climbed a lighting structure to get a better view of the show.
Scott saw the fans, including one who was dressed as Spider-Man, hanging from the contraption and ordered them to get down. They compelled, and the show went on, TMZ reported.
Footage of the performance shows conditions similar to last year’s Astroworld Festival in Houston, where 10 attendees were crushed to death in a surge of massive crowd.
Scott claimed that he didn’t see fans and ambulances fainting in the sea of 50,000 while performing. Still, he has been hit with dozens of lawsuits.
Scott has slowly made his way back to live performances. With the help of Diddyperformed at the Billboard Music Awards on May 15. He was scheduled to perform at Nevada’s Day N Vegas festival, but the the event was discarded due to “a combination of logistics, timing and production issues.”
On the other hand the spent his 4th of July weekend performing at Miami’s E11even club on Saturday.
