Confidence in the Mexican market
Although the growth rate of electronic commerce is constantly advancing, in Mercado Libre they highlight that Mexico has demonstrated its potential for the company, since they have grown above the industry, while at the financial level they are also standing out.
According to figures from the Mexican Online Sales Association (AMVO), national e-commerce quadrupled its volume in the last four years, but Mercado Libre grew six times in the same period, Geisen highlighted.
Likewise, Rivas commented that the Mercado Pago application is already in the top 4 of the most used financial services apps in the country, only below banking applications.
Given this growth, the evolution of Mercado Libre will continue. When asked if they could follow the path of a superapp, Geisen emphasized that they already have two and highlighted some innovations that the e-commerce platform will have.
The solutions, although they did not detail their operation, will be related to different video formats for the discovery and promotion of products, such as short videos or streams, even promoted by content creators or influencers.
