The Minister of Energy and Mines of Cuba, Liván Arronte, and the French ambassador in Havana, Patrice Paoli, signed a cooperation pact this Wednesday in order to accelerate the development of renewable energies in Cuba.

The portfolio led by Arronte has detailed in a statement that the Ministry’s vision for the country is to “achieve 100 percent of electricity generation with renewable energy sources with the aim of achieving the necessary energy sovereignty.

He also pointed out that the AFD has supported Cuba in “key sectors such as rural development, water, sanitation, energy, transportation and health,” and that its objective is to accompany the island in its development.
