Dollar falls and touches $4,500, the lowest price so far in 2023

The dollar continues to show volatility in this first month of 2023. For this Friday, January 20, the foreign currency fell again.

By 8:30 a.m., registered an average price of $4,634.87. This implies a drop of 48.98 pesos below the TRM of the day, which is $4,683.85.

Later, around 11:49 a.m., the currency reached its lowest price so far in 2023 and broke the 4,600-peso barrier. It was listed at 4,587 pesos, a figure that had not been registered since last October 6, 2022.

Finally, the day closed with a average price of $4,631.38. That is, 52.47 pesos below the TRM of the day.

The opening price of the day was $4,650. For its part, the maximum trading value was $4,677 and the minimum was $4,581.

Analysts expect to continue seeing volatility in the currency. Even the strengthening of the dollar in the face of the uncertainty generated by the intervention of the Minister of Mines and Energy, Irene Vélez, in thethe World Economic Forum.

The high official assured that in Colombia they would not continue signing contracts for oil and gas exploitation.
