The President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelensky, has asked this Saturday for international help to carry out the reconstruction of the country, as a result of the invasion by Russian troops that began on February 24 by order of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“It is necessary not only to restore everything that was destroyed by the occupiers, but also to create a new foundation for our life, for Ukraine: safe, modern, convenient, without barriers. This requires colossal investments: billions, new technologies, best practices, new institutions and, of course, reforms,” Zelensky explained in his daily address to the Ukrainians.
Zelensky made reference to the Lugano conference in Switzerland, where 40 countries are going to meet with the aim of coordinating plans to support Ukraine.
The Ukrainian head of state has explained that as of this Monday he will “show” the country’s situation to each state –in what he considers to be the largest economic project in Europe– to obtain “extraordinary opportunities” and thus “invite ” to each company to work in Ukraine.
Likewise, he considered that the advances in the negotiations in Lugano could improve kyiv’s path “towards victory”. Furthermore, he added that the war is intensifying in some regions, such as Kharkov.
“Their cruelty is only increasing in some places and cannot be forgotten,” he said, calling on residents to “use all their contacts abroad” to “spread the truth” about the “crimes of the occupants in our land”.
