Grasshopper Manufacture surprised everyone shortly before Devolver Direct 2023 by announcing that it was bringing back Shadows of the Damned, the 2011 title published by Electronic Arts, via a remaster. There were questions about it, such as the availability of the game: will it be exclusive? Will it be multiplatform? Will it not come to Nintendo Switch? The study answered these questions… in a way.
The niche Japanese studio took advantage of the big season of video game announcements to reveal the remastering of Shadows of the Damnedbut offered a bit more detail through its 25th anniversary presentation.

In the new trailer, not only did we get a look at more scenes and gameplay of the game in development, but it was also confirmed that it will reach all currently available platforms, which would include Nintendo Switch, PC and perhaps even the last generation consoles. Little by little they lose support.
However, something interesting to note is that the message spoke of the possibility of one being left out; in other words, it’s almost certainly coming to mainstream platforms, but there’s nothing concrete yet.

It is important to mention that the Shadows of the Damned The original debuted on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 without any exclusivity in 2011. Grasshopper Manufacture managed to regain the rights to the franchise, so it is responsible for it in its entirety. On the other hand, the Japanese studio ceased to be independent after NetEase bought it in 2021.
