WhatsApp would be planning to allow users to send photos in original quality

As has been seen on the WaBetaInfo Twitter account, it seems that code has been found in a beta version of WhatsApp that suggests that eventually users will be allowed to send original quality images from the appjust as we can currently do on Telegram.

This has been found in version 2.23.2.11 of the Android application, where when sending an image to a contactwe find a menu of quality options to decide what image quality our contact will receive.

According to WaBetaInfo, this feature is related to one they found in version 2.21.15.7 that talked about higher quality options, and in principle, this will allow users to send images in original quality in the future, as if it were a document, where no modification is made to the content of the file.

In any case, this is a very useful function, especially in those cases where not only compression may be a problembut the loss of attributes such as transparency in a file PNG can be a problem when sending this type of file through any instant messaging application such as WhatsApp.
