The Turkish Ministry of Defense has confirmed the departure from the Ukrainian ports of two ships with more than 15,000 tons of grain that they will be able to safely leave the country’s waters thanks to the protection agreement signed last month in Istanbul between Ukraine, Russia, Turkey, and the United Nations.
The first is the Barbados-flagged ship ‘Fulmar S’, which transports 12,000 tons of corn from the port of Chornomorsk to Iskenderun, Turkey. The other ship, ‘Thhoe’, flying the flag of the Marshall Islands, has also set sail from the port of Chornomorsk with 3,000 tons of sunflower seeds towards Tekirdag, in northwestern Turkey, according to the ministry’s statement.
On the ground, the Ukrainian Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office denounced this Saturday that at least 361 children have died and around 711 have been injured in attacks carried out by Russia since the beginning of the invasion.
Most of the child victims, counting deaths and injuries, have been recorded in the Donetsk region, with 375; Kharkov, with 198, the capital region, kyiv, with 116; Chernigov (68), Luhansk region (61), Kherson (55), Mikolaiv (48), Zaporizhia (30), Sumy (17), and Zhytomyr (15).
