Usually when we talk to you about eBay it is to inform you of a case of hoarders who sell items for resale at exorbitant prices. However, today we will talk about a user who is offering his collection of video game consoles in exchange for a million, but it is worth every penny.

The collection we are talking about is made up of almost 2400 consoles and is from the French seller Kaori Trente, who after 25 years of research, is willing to sell his entire collection of consoles, which represents around 50 years of collection.

One of the largest collections of consoles is for sale

According to the seller (kariaure on eBay), it is the “largest console collection in existence”, as it includes all console models, colors, versions (including American, European and Japanese), limited editions, the commercial ones, those used for promotion and the exclusive ones that can only be won in contests.

The seller mentions that he started collecting in the early 1990s; however, he sold what he had made at the end of that decade to open his own company. Then, in the 2000s, the player returned to collecting and says that in this decade he made many purchases. Over the next few years, he left and returned to the hobby, but in 2018 he came back with everything and got models that he had missed.

The price of the collection is very high, but not absurd

Best of all, the seller didn’t put a ridiculous price on his collection. We say this because Kaori Trente is selling the collection for €989,000 EUR, approximately $20 million. Obviously, at first the price could sound a bit high, but unlike what we pointed out with the hoarders, this case is worth it. It’s hard to see these types of collections, which mean decades of dedication to a player and the focus on not missing a single release. Also, the boxes containing the consoles appear to be in excellent condition; in fact, many are new and Kaori Trente estimates that between 200 and 300 pieces are impossible to find.

“I did not put a crazy amount. I calculated each piece of my collection knowing that many are new and some can no longer be found,” said the seller, who considers that even with this money it is impossible to make each of the consoles separately. selling.

To put it in perspective, that money is enough for a luxurious house or sports car, but we have no doubt that there are many gamers and history fans who have this money and prefer to use it to get this incredible collection.

In addition, the consoles are functional and include the necessary accessories to play (power connection cables and image projection). It goes without saying that the collection looks impressive, since it consists of shelves full of consoles in their original packaging, as we mentioned, in excellent condition.

At the time of writing, the collection is still unsold, but there are nearly 150 people who have expressed interest in it. It is important to mention that no console is sold separately and the seller only ships within France, which limits the number of interested parties. However, he is open to answering any questions through eBay. Here’s a video from 2010, when he only had 1,500 consoles in his collection. in your account Instagram you can find more images of his collection and on eBay you can find a list of all the consoles that are included.
