The Intel Raptor Lake will have DDR4 and DDR5 support and 16 PCIe 5.0 lines

The end of 2022 will be full of novelties with new releases such as the NVIDIA RTX 40 seriesnew AMD processors and new graphics. Intel will also launch the Raptor Lake, of which we have already known some details. Now, thanks to 9550pro on Twitter, we know that this platform will continue to support DDR4 memory as is Intel Alder Lake, but also will increase the speed of newer DDR5.

The Intel Raptor Lake will have support DDR4 at 3,200 and will increase the base speed of DDR5 memory up to 5,600MHz, from Intel Alder Lake's current 4,800. We have also been able to see that the Intel Raptor Lake will have more PCI Express 4.0 lanesbut nothing has been seen additional lanes for PCI Express 5.0. This generation will have 16 lanes available from the CPU, which may mean that split between PCI cards and storage.

The slide also confirms some specs we already knew about, like a higher number of cores and larger L2 and L3 cache. In addition, the Intel Raptor Lake will be compatible with current motherboards with Z690 chipsetalthough we may see the new boards with chipset 700 for the end of this month of July or the beginning of next August.
