Star+ content will be available on Disney+, what will happen to my subscription?

What will happen to the Star+ subscription?

According to the message, Star+ will continue until July 24, 2024. After that date, the service will be canceled. The company indicated that subscribers do not have to do anything to continue enjoying the service.

The details of these changes, such as the service category to which subscriptions will migrate, prices, promotions, transition periods and service availability, will be informed later.

Changes to subscription agreements will be effective from April 15 for new accounts and April 21 for existing subscriptions. The update was given to give Disney more flexibility to make the migration and offer a similar experience to existing subscriptions.

Disney had announced in December of last year that it would merge its two streaming platforms available in Latin America during the second half of 2024.

The integration will allow the company to strengthen its content in a single application, providing an “improved and superior experience, and simplified access to subscribers, on whom we always focus,” commented Diego Lerner, president of The Walt Disney Company Latin. America, in a statement.

Currently, consumers must pay for two subscriptions to access the Star+ and Disney+ libraries, which can represent a challenge for users in a context where greater competitors are emerging and the economy is volatile.

Until April 2024, the monthly cost of the Disney+ subscription is 179 pesos, with the possibility of contracting Star+ at an additional cost.
