Spotify is testing an offline mixing system for when we don't have an internet connection

Spotify now lets you download songs, albums, and playlists for offline listeningbut until now we had to select each song to download manually, something that can lead to forgetfulness if we want to have an updated playlist, as it usually happens, for example, in cases where we carry a USB memory in the car.

Now, the company is testing a feature called “Your Mix Offline” that will save a mix of our recently played songs for when we want to listen to music, but we don’t have an Internet connectionaccording to a tweet from Daniel Ek, CEO of Spotify.

The feature resembles YouTube’s Offline Mixtape feature that was coming to the platform in 2019, Well, at that time, Smart Downloads chose some of our favorite songs to have them available anywhere, regardless of our connection.

The Spotify function is very similar, since the system downloads songs and other content that are listened to frequently, and combines them in a playlist that we will always have ready, regardless of our ability to connect to the internet, so we will have to see if this manages to bring YouTube Music users to Spotify.
