Scotland’s Chief Minister, Nicola Sturgeonannounced on Tuesday that it will call a “consultative” referendum on the independence of the british region on October 19, 2023.
In a speech to the self-governing Holyrood Parliament, Sturgeon stated that the referendum must be “legal” and “constitutional”, and will ask voters the same question as the one held in 2014: “Should Scotland be an independent country?”.
