Aside from offering usability improvements and obviously more powerful hardware, both come loaded with productivity-oriented AI features, which may be a plus in the case of the larger Z Fold6, which is compatible with Samsung’s digital pen.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6
Starting with the compact Galaxy Z Flip6, this phone designed primarily (though not exclusively) for a female audience features, like its predecessor, a 3.4-inch exterior display and a 6.7-inch foldable interior display, apparently with a less pronounced crease.
The first one is used to receive notifications, check calendars, turn off alarms, take selfies or sending messages, to mention just a few operations that can be performed quickly without opening the phone, but it also facilitates the translation of conversations to text between two people using the AI tools incorporated by Samsung.

Essentially the same size as the Galaxy Z Flip6 (just 0.2mm thinner when folded), it’s nonetheless a phone that’s easier to handle one-handed thanks to changes to its interface, Samsung says. It’s also faster, boasting a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor with 12GB of RAM and a slightly more capable 4,000mAh battery to provide two more hours of web browsing or three hours of video playback according to official figures.
Another improved aspect is the rear camera, which uses a 50-megapixel main sensor instead of 12 megapixels like the outgoing model.
Samsung Galaxy Fold6
The Galaxy Z Fold 6, on the other hand, perhaps poses a deeper and more interesting update. Essentially, Samsung has focused its efforts on improving the durability of its hinge mechanism, which is now more resistant to shocks, and making it more practical to handle the phone with one hand, for which it has reduced its weight by 14 grams and adjusted its dimensions as much as possible, cutting 1.4 mm in height and 1.3 mm in thickness once closed.
The technical specifications are as expected, with a 6.3-inch exterior display for conventional use and a 7.6-inch interior display that is 50% brighter (up to 2,600 nits). Underneath them, and as in the Galaxy Z Flip 6, we find a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor with vapor chamber cooling and 12 GB of RAM, as expected in a modern flagship.
- Screen:
- Main: 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X, 2160 x 1856, 120Hz

- Front camera: 10 megapixels and f/2.2
- Under-display camera: 4 megapixels and f/1.8
- Battery: 4,400 mAh with 25W fast charging and wireless charging
- Dimensions and weight: 68.1 x 153.5 x 12.1 mm (folded), 132.6 x 153.5 x 5.6 mm (unfolded) and 239 grams

The big draw of the Galaxy Z Fold6, however, is its AI features. They’re largely the same as those on the Galaxy Z Flip6, but the larger internal display makes it possible to take better advantage of their potential. Some of these features are derived directly from those built into last year’s Galaxy Z Fold, such as a real-time call translator that’s now compatible with more platforms (including Google Meet), as well as a transcription assistant that can annotate and summarize conversations to simplify lectures and work call notes.
Of course, there are also voice-to-text translation features (including the option to use the translator with the screen folded if that’s more practical) and integration with Google AI to search for words and graphic elements from any point on the screen. Finally, Samsung has incorporated generative AI functions to create text to images. This last feature has a special adaptation for the Galaxy Z Fold6 that allows you to scribble objects that are later improved by AI; something quite practical if you’re not a great artist.
