The Russian Interior Ministry has included US Senator Lindsey Graham on the wanted list, after the head of Russia’s Investigative Committee (equivalent to the country’s Attorney General’s Office), Alexander Bastrykin, ordered the opening of a process against him for inciting violence.
As reported by the TASS news agency, the database of the Russian Interior Ministry has included the US senator, “wanted under the Criminal Code”, without detailing which article it is that he would have violated.
This Sunday, Bastrykin ordered the opening of a process against Graham, a member of the most conservative establishment of the Republican party, for inciting violence against the Russians, alleging that he spoke about the financial participation of the United States in the murder of Russian citizens during a meeting with the President of Ukraine”.
Bastrykin is referring to a video showing Graham meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as part of his visit to Ukraine this week. The president thanks the senator for his help to the Ukraine, to which Graham appears to reply: “And the Russians are dying… Best money we’ve ever spent.”
The video to which Bastrykin refers could not be verified from the United States and the DPA agency explains that the sound quality is very poor at the particular moment to which the Russian prosecutor refers.
