Russia points to a possible drone attack after a fire at an oil plant in Rostov

June 22 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Russian authorities have pointed this Wednesday to a possible attack with drones after the fire registered early in the day against an oil plant in the Rostov region, without at the moment there being more details about what happened.

The regional governor, Vasili Golubev, has indicated in a message on his Telegram account that “according to one version, the fire was caused by a drone attack on the plant’s technical facilities”, before adding that “fragments of two drones have been found” in the area.

Likewise, he stressed that the fire has already been extinguished after “coordinated and efficient” work by the specialists of the Ministry of Emergencies and the workers of the plant. “There are no casualties and staff have been evacuated,” he said.

“Work on the plant has been suspended. Investigations are ongoing. Once they are finished, experts will analyze the damage and the possibilities of resuming activities as soon as possible,” Golubev stressed.
