Neuroendocrine regulation of food intake and energy expenditure: an integrated view of obesity and lipodystrophy.

The ACT210039 Ring Project (ANID – Science and Technology Research Ring), calls for a public tender to provide a postdoctoral researcher position.

Provide a postdoctoral research position within the framework of the Ring Project ACT210039.

The project seeks to discover how the interaction between the hormones GLP1, leptin and cortisol regulates energy balance and behaviors of food intake and energy expenditure. The project will study in murine models of obesity and lipodystrophy the effect of pharmacological manipulation of GLP1, insulin, and cortisol on: (1) glycemic control, (2) expression of genes and key proteins in the regulation of energy balance, (3) energy expenditure, (4) homeostatic and hedonic food intake behaviors.

A Doctor in Biological, Biomedical, Medical, Biochemical or related sciences is required, with demonstrable practical experience in research with experimental animals and scientific training in metabolism, physiology, endocrinology and/or nutrition.
