23 Aug. (Portaltic/EP) –
Netflix plans to strengthen its commitment to games on the platform by creating a new cloud service, as suggested by a series of job vacancies recently published by the company.
Currently, the ‘streaming’ service has a series of exclusive titles for ‘smartphones’, both Android and iOSin their corresponding versions available in the Play Store and App Store, respectively.
These video games, among which are Teeter Up, Shooting Hoops either Stranger Things: 1984, they are displayed via an on-screen carousel and are available with a Netflix subscription at no additional charge.
To access them it is necessary to have a video service account on the ‘smartphone’, something that could change in the future in favor of a new cloud gaming platform, according to information discovered in the official Netflix profile on LinkedIn.
In the job search social network, various job vacancies have been made available to interested parties that suggest that the company would be planning to expand its staff to work on this new ‘online’ platform.
Among some of the positions offered, security product manager stands out, in whose description it is mentioned as a desirable requirement to have “experience with cloud gaming challenges, threat vectors, infrastructure and customer requirements.”
On the other hand, in one’s own Web page Other job postings have been introduced from the company alluding to skills in “creating early or unfinished platform games.”
another vacancy to fill a position as a senior software engineer indicates that Netflix is looking for a person who can “back up” your “cloud gaming” service and to help develop SDKs “to enable game developers to succeed in creating high-quality titles” for that ecosystem.
In line with this information, it should be remembered that a few weeks ago CNBC published, based on data collected by Apptopia, that only 1.7 million active daily users make use of this video game service.
This indicates that just 1 percent of the 221 million total subscribers of the platform has shown interest in these contents since its arrival on the platform.
