Mexico commemorates the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations with China


The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, through the Matías Romero Institute, and the Chinese Embassy in that country they organized the “Dialogue within the framework of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mexico and the People’s Republic of China”.

Mexico and the People’s Republic of China commemorated the 50th anniversary of the beginning of their relations with a dialogue in which experts from the diplomatic, academic and business fields discussed the future of the relationship between both nations

The event was attended by experts in the political, economic, historical, cultural and geopolitical fields.

The panel consisted of an exercise in historical, social and diplomatic prospective on the opportunities and potential coincidences between the two countries.

The experts in the bilateral relationship discussed issues from various areas such as trade, education, culture, technological innovation, cooperation, development for peace, as well as the great global challenges and support for an international system based on rules.

The meeting was held at the Matías Romero Institute and was opened by the Mexican Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs, Carmen Moreno Toscano, as well as by the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in the Latin American country, Zhu Qingqiao.

Meanwhile, the Mexican ambassador to the Asian giant, Jesús Seade Kuri, participated virtually, emphasizing the multiple complementarities between the economies of the two nations, as well as the strategic importance of opening markets in China for Mexican and Chinese products. encourage greater investment from that country in Mexico.

This dialogue is part of the commemorative activities that both countries carry out throughout the year 2022 through their respective governments, in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
