Left 4 Dead 3 would be a reality after CS: GO 2, according to a report

Counter-Strike 2 confirmed: Valve shares the first trailer of the game

whatValve could break the curse of the third game? In the 2000s, the company made the decision not to touch its popular franchises again, such as Portal, Half-Life or Left 4 Dead. The aforementioned games never had a third installment that closed the story.

However, in the year 2023, Valve surprised everyone with the release of CS:GO 2 with the Source 2 graphics engine. Many improvements were made to physics, lighting, textures, stage design and of course the operation of the fumes.

Is Left 4 Dead 3 in development?

Recently, Reddit user reported to have found some files in Counter-Strike 2 that refer to Left 4 Dead 3, the zombie game that never closed the plot of the popular characters that gamers know.

The ComicBook portal explains in its report that it is a common practice in the video game industry. For example, some items from Grand Theft Auto V were found in the Max Payne 3 files.

The big question is whether Valve is willing to start the project from scratch. As detailed by Reddit user Master_Frag. Left 4 Dead 3 started development before Source 2 was operational, meaning the company would have to start from scratch and it would take at least a couple of years to see it up and running.

We will have to wait for the following announcements from Valve. For the moment, we have already seen how powerful its graphics engine can be in terms of physics with the launch of Half-Life Alyx, the virtual reality title.
