The metaverse is an idea that excites and captivates many users and video game companies and technology in general. While many believe it’s almost unachievable, for the Epic Games boss it’s entirely doable, but the only thing standing in the way is Apple.
Tim Sweeney, founder and CEO of Epic Games, was present at the Games Developer Conference 2023 (GDC 2023) and revealed a new way to play Fortnite: Allow users to unleash their creativity with highly sophisticated mode and creation tools, just like mods.
As part of the event, Fab was also revealed, an “open store” where assets and more creation tools would be found that would support “all games inspired by the metaverse.”

Apple stands between Epic Games and its vision of the metaverse
