Kim Jong Un reiterates his intention to "never give up" nuclear weapons

Sep. 9 (EUROPA PRESS) –

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has strongly declared his intention never to give up nuclear weapons, warning North Korean citizens that the “ultimate goal” of the United States is to topple the regime.

To do this, Kim has enacted a law with which he intends to turn North Korea into “a nuclear state”, and with which he has established certain guidelines in which the use of weapons of mass destruction would be justified, as reported by the North Korean agency KCNA and has picked up the South Korean Yonhap.

Specifically, if the nuclear forces control command –Kim Jong Un– were in danger due to an attack by “a hostile force”, a nuclear counterattack would be launched “automatically and immediately”, regardless of the type of attack received.

“This is interpreted as being intended to emphasize to the international community that North Korea itself is a ‘de facto’ nuclear weapons state while at the same time urging or separating South Korea from the United States to prepare for countermeasures against North Korea,” reads a statement to which KCNA has had access, citing statements by the North Korean leader.

Likewise, Kim has pointed out that “the purpose of the United States is to get rid” of North Korea’s nuclear weapons in order to destroy the country’s government in this way.

For this reason, the North Korean leader has stressed that, “ultimately”, North Korea “will exercise its right to self-defense”, alluding to the possibility of an attack by another power.

“We are not going to give up the right to legitimate defense, which depends on the future security of the country and the people (…) We must never give up our nuclear weapons,” added the North Korean leader.
