Inteia bets on smart territories

Ernesto Pardo, general manager of Inteia

He The objective that Inteia, a company that is part of the ISA Group, has set for itself is to help consolidate intelligent territories through technology. Ernesto Pardo, general manager of the company, explained their work focus and the solutions they have designed.

(See: NIU bets on electric mobility with motorcycles).

What is the company’s approach?

Inteia is a company that was born as an ISA venture a little over 10 years ago. We have been managers of large volumes of data from the beginning, so our greatest value is operating digital technology. Throughout these years, we have been developing a portfolio that is aimed at enabling the development of smart territories, we are focused on that at the moment, through innovation and technology.

What do you mean by smart territories?

All territory is intelligent by nature. However, the concept of smart territories and cities was born back in the 90s to defend the idea that through technology we can generate social well-being, a better quality of life for citizens, create better conditions for a territory to progress. economically, improve health and employment conditions. For example, today we see many technological tools, such as artificial intelligence, that are allowing better decisions to be made, and thus achieve great benefits.

What are the solutions you have for companies?

We focus on three areas. The first is the environment, here we have solutions like Carbonlytics. The second line is smart mobility, and here we operate the Medellín Traffic Control Center with the highest standards of innovation, and finally the third line we have is energy efficiency. In this vertical we create solutions tailored to companies in order to improve their carbon footprint, so that they can make efficient use of their resources, in addition to creating strategies.

(See: ‘We offer everything from skateboards to trucks’).

What is the Carbonlytics solution all about?

It is a technological product that uses data and artificial intelligence to calculate the carbon footprint of a specific territory, of a company that operates in a territory or of a crop. This information is essential to create better strategies to reduce the carbon footprint or to know what must be done to offset the carbon footprint that is being generated. It is noteworthy that these types of tools can help both companies and governments.

How many clients does Inteia have?

Today we have 24 clients and most of them have been working on the mobility approach. In recent years we have been growing by leaps and bounds, since two years ago we barely had three clients. Several of our clients are international and the goal is to continue reaching more companies.

How do you see the digital adoption of Colombian companies?

This answer depends on how we compare ourselves. If we compare ourselves with more advanced economies, we still have a long way to go. Now, from my work I see that more companies are making that leap. We know that we are in a unique moment not only globally, but also locally in terms of technology adoption.

Today technological tools, such as artificial intelligence, are a co-pilot.

(See: What is needed in Bogotá to have electric mobility?).

What are the expectations they have?

We are a company that currently invoices US$5 million per year based on our product portfolio. We expect to be billing by 2030 between US$25 million and US$30 million. The thought is to address more areas of cities, for example smart tourism, agrotech, smart economy, among other areas. The goal, without a doubt, is to help businesses and companies to have more efficient and more environmentally friendly operations.

How many customers do you have a goal?

Yes. The goal is to reach 20230 with more than 1,000 corporate clients and have more than 70 government-type clients.
