The Federal Government of Germany has confirmed this Friday the shipment of four sapper tanks to Ukraine, along with other systems specialized in the removal of mines and mobile heating systems.
The German Executive has updated the list of material supplied to Ukraine since the outbreak of the war, back in February, and whose value now amounts to more than 2.2 million euros.
Likewise, Berlin has announced that in the future it plans to send four dozen MARDER model battle tanks, the Patriot air defense system and around 100,000 first aid kits to kyiv.
Germany has been the target of pressure from the Ukraine since the beginning of the war, which urges it to supply tanks. Berlin, for its part, advocates that this decision be adopted jointly by the Atlantic Alliance as a whole.
These pressures have intensified in recent days after the president of Poland, Andrzej Duda, announced from Ukrainian territory the shipment of German-made Leopard tanks in possession of the Polish Army.
The Polish authorities themselves have recognized that, with this decision, they seek to clear the way for other international powers to join the supply of artillery to Ukraine, although they did not directly mention Germany.
