Georgescu denounces that the Biden Administration is trying to involve Romania in the conflict between Ukraine and Russia

MADRID Dec. 8 () –

The Romanian presidential candidate and winner of the first round of the presidential elections, Calin Georgescu, invalidated by the Constitutional Court, stated this Saturday that the Biden Administration has tried to involve Romania in the conflict between Ukraine and Russia.

“Outgoing President Joe Biden wants to use Bucharest as a tool to continue the conflict in Ukraine, trying to drag Romania into the war,” he said in statements to the Romanian news channel Realitatea.

Thus, Georgescu has stated that Romania’s entry into the war would prevent the appointment of Donald Trump as president, in the context of a possible state of emergency.

Last Friday, the candidate assured that he will challenge the invalidation of the first round of the elections, in which the ultranationalist politician went to a second round before the Constitutional Court annulled the results of the elections due to alleged electoral manipulation in his favor, although He assured that he will appear again in a new vote, with a date yet to be announced.

“Whoever fights for God and for his nation, nothing defeats him,” declared Georgescu, investigated for alleged Russian intervention in the financing of his campaign, in his first statements after learning of the annulment of the first round.

The first round of the elections, according to a document declassified by the Romanian Presidency, “occurred amid cyberattacks with the aim of influencing the correctness of the electoral process” while an “election candidate benefited from massive exposure due to the treatment preference that the TikTok platform granted him by not identifying him as a political candidate,” in reference to Georgescu.
