At least five people have died this Wednesday due to an attack carried out by the Russian Army against the city of Chernigov, located in northern Ukraine, according to Ukrainian authorities, who have warned that the death toll could increase. in the next few hours.

“Unfortunately, there are already five confirmed deaths,” said the city's mayor, Oleksander Lomako, in a message on his Telegram account. “The search operation is still underway. The services are working at the scene and the main task is to help civilians,” he said.

Thus, Lomako stressed that the city's blood donation center “needs a lot of help” and has asked the population to come and donate. The mayor has also confirmed material damage to several buildings and “critical infrastructure”, according to the Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform.
