EA Sports has been in charge of game development FIFA for many years. However, it’s time to say goodbye to simulators as we knew them. On the one hand, Electronic Arts announced that the franchise will take the name of EA Sports FC and that they will use all the knowledge and feedback from users to offer the best gaming experience.

On the other, FIFA itself will have its own entertainment platforms. For now, it has been announced that there will be four video games that will use blockchain technology.

The first is AI League, a casual 4 vs. 4, where the players will be the coaches and the artificial intelligence will control the characters. Gamers will be able to trade and collect characters.

Matchday, Uplandme and Phygti are the names given to the other three video games. The first (Matchday) will allow players to make predictions via collectible cards, which can be exchanged with other users.

Uplandme will offer you the Qatar 2022 experience to visit the replica states. You can also buy items to customize your home. Finally, Phygti is an app that generates FIFA World Cup digital rewards.

“This is a hugely exciting set of partnerships that we have established as we embrace a new digital native football fan and engage with them in spaces where we know they are already active,” said Romy Gai, Commercial Director of the FIFA.

“As we continue to build our future gaming strategy, Web 3.0 is sure to have an important role to play, and this marks the beginning of our journey.”
