The Chinese company Powerstar announced at the beginning of the month some “PowerLeader P3” processors with x86 architecture that promised a much higher performance than any other Chinese CPU on the market, however, it seems that there was a trapped cat and they are nothing more than renowned low-end 10th generation Intel Core processors to pose as their own chips, something that was already suspected given their physical similarity.
The information has emerged after leaking performance results and specifications in the database GeekBench about some models of these PowerStar PowerLeader P3, specifically the PowerStar PowerLeader P3-01105and they are really Intel Core i3-10105 renowned.
Hence, its specifications are those of a processor with 4 cores, 8 threads and a base frequency of 3.7 GHz that increases to 4.4 GHz with Boost. Their 6MB L3 cache and 65W TDP, together with identical performance, also give another hint that they are the same processor. As if that weren’t enough, the Polestar P3-01105’s own specification list indicates that it uses the LGA 1200 socket and that its code name is “Comet Lake”, the same code name as the tenth generation Intel Core processors.
The “PowerStar” PowerLeader P3 will be sold, unless Intel manages to stop this deceptive strategy, to pre-assembled systems in the Chinese market.
