Although several companies will not go to gamescom 2022, Ubisoft confirms attendance

PlatinumGames took everyone by surprise at The Game Awards 2022 with the announcement of a new game of Bayonetta, which will have a very different style of play and art than usual. Something that will also be a little different is the development team, which will be made up of rookie but promising talent.

PlatinumGames has several projects in development and for Bayonetta Origins: Cherry and the Lost Demon has just announced that it will give young developers the opportunity to take part in this project.

Bayonetta Origins will be borne by young talent

Hideki Kamiya will be involved in the project as a supervising director, but the development team will for the most part be creatives who don’t have as much experience in the industry, but with great ambition. There will also be some veterans who will help when needed. One of them is Abebe Tinari, who will debut as game director.

Development on this spin-off began when the third game in the main series went into production. Abebe Tinari was going to be a designer of Bayonetta 3but the creatives Hideki Kamiya and Atsushi Inaba decided to give him the position of director in Bayonetta Origins: Cherry and the Lost Demon.

Bayonetta Origins it will be a unique experience

Something that caught the attention of fans of the series is that it is very different from the main series, which has a much more mature and somewhat provocative tone.

“Instead of the thrilling Hollywood movie extravaganza and rampant action, this time we’re focused on telling an intimate story in a world inspired by the subtle lines and pastel colors of an illustrated fairy tale,” said Tinari.

In this adventure, Bayonetta’s first steps as a witch will be told, when she “did not have weapons or demons under her control or her characteristic cockiness.” Precisely from these “limitations” the gameplay of the game was born, which will make it a “unique experience”. In fact, according to Tinari, Bayonetta Origins “it doesn’t look like any game PlatinumGames has ever made.”

In case you missed it: Kamiya doesn’t want that Bayonetta finish; already plans more games and spin-off.

Kamiya recommends playing Bayonetta Origins with an open mind

Thus, in the game fans will be able to see how it was the first time that Cherry tried to summon a demon and make it obey her. Cheshire was precisely her first demon and he will accompany her on the adventure.

This is also positive for players who do not know anything about Bayonettasince, being the gameplay completely new, anyone can enjoy this new approach to the story of Bayonettaeven those who are not familiar with action games.

“I implore you to let your guard down and approach this title with a fresh and open mind,” Kamiya said.
