Ubisoft will launch its new delivery Assassin’s Creed Shadows on November 15, a story set in 16th century feudal Japan which will feature the Assassin Naoe, a shinobi Japanese, yeah Yasuke, a samurai of African origin inspired by a historical figure.

The French video game developer has announced some news about its next title in the Assassin’s Creed saga, which was released for the first time in September 2022 under the name Assassin’s Creed Codename RED and which, now, has been presented as Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

As Ubisoft has shown at the premiere of the official cinematic trailerthis new Assassin’s title will take place in the last Sengoku period, a time of wars and important social reforms in Japan that will frame the stories of the two protagonists of the installment, the shinobi Naoe and the samurai Yasuke, who will offer different perspectives on “a transformative moment in Japanese history.”

The company has highlighted that the character of Yasuke corresponds to a samurai who existed in real life. A historical figure of African origin who arrived in Japan enslaved by the Portuguese and who ended up becoming a samurai, notable for his size, strength and ingenuity.

Thus, players will be able to discover Japan through the eyes of Yasuke or the Shinobi Naoe, which the developer refers to as “the sword of the people.” Specifically, Naoe is the daughter of one of the most emblematic shinobi of the time, and learns her father’s skills to help her people in the war, becoming an Assassin.

As explained by Ubisoft, both characters require different skills. In the case of Naoe, use stealth, parkour and device management, for its part, Yasuke is oriented towards hand-to-hand combat.

The stories of the protagonists intersect with the mandate of the Japanese daimyo Oda Nobunaga, whose goal is to unify Japan and uses his samurai army to conquer territories. In this way, the samurai Yasuke arrives under the command of Nobunaga to Iga, the native province of the shinobi Naoe, to fight the Second Tensho Iga War. For its part, the Igan resistance, led by Naoe’s father, tries to stop Nobunaga’s advance.

With all this, both characters allow the player to experience opposing perspectives on Nobunaga and the means he used to achieve his goal of unification.

On the other hand, Ubisoft has announced that this installment of the Assassin’s franchise introduces some innovationsAs the change of seasons and the use of light and shadows, which influence the gameplay. Furthermore, the open world created for this game is “dynamic and highly detailed”, so, as they have shared, it is designed so that players “get lost in it.”

In this title, the information will be key to the development of the story, since it has a Revamped exploration mechanics. In fact, the players They will be able to create their own network of spies to discover new areas and hunt down their targets.

Players will be able to live the adventures of the new Assassin’s Creed Shadows starting November 15, when it will arrive PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, Amazon Luna and PC, through the Ubisoft Store and Epic Games Store.
