Adele says she was devastated after canceling her Las Vegas residency

() — Adele’s fans, who had their tickets ready for her show, weren’t the only ones devastated when the artist had to cancel her Las Vegas residency.

During a recent conversation with “Desert Island Discs” on BBC Radio 4the singer shared that she felt “empty for a couple of months” after having to disappoint her fans.

“I had to wait and cry,” he said. “I guess just crying the shows and getting over the guilt, but it was brutal.”

Through tears, Adele made the announcement of her cancellation of her performances in January, a day before the highly anticipated concerts began.

She now says she “definitely felt everyone’s disappointment” and also felt “devastated” and “afraid of letting them down.”

“I thought I could fix it and make it work and I couldn’t. I stand by that decision,” Adele said. “I don’t think any other artist would have done what I did and I think that’s why it was such a big story.”

“I’m not going to just put on a show because I have to or because people are going to be disappointed or because we’re going to lose a lot of money,” he added.

Adele returned to the stage at the weekend to headline the BST Hyde Park festival in London.
