The Swedish independent deputy of Kurdish-Iranian origin Amineh Kakabaveh has questioned the agreement reached by Sweden and Finland with Turkey to unblock the accession of both Nordic countries to NATO and has threatened to promote a motion of censure against the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ann Linde, if you don’t show up to explain.
“If he does not appear there will be a motion of censure against Ann Linde in her duties as foreign minister,” Kakabaveh told Swedish television TV4.
For Kakabaveh, it is “a black day” and he has warned that Sweden “the Government of Stockholm has surrendered to Ankara”. The government “has sacrificed” the Kurdish parties. “It is very worrying”, he has underlined her.
Linde was in charge of signing the Memorandum of Understanding presented on Tuesday, for which Kakabaveh has requested her appearance before the Swedish Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee.
To prosper, the motion of censure requires the support of 35 members of Parliament.
