Cinema based on videogames has resurfaced in recent months with incredible productions. So it’s not uncommon to learn that gamers already have their list of favorite titles that need to hit the big screen. One of the most popular candidates is Fortnite.
The Battle Royale is immensely popular, so it is normal to think that Epic Games will adapt it sooner or later to the cinema. Louis Leterrier, director of fast and furious xhe thinks the idea is great, so he would love to be in charge of the project.

Proposal to take away Fortnite to the movies
During a panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2023, Leterrier expressed his interest in adapting the battle royale universe into a film. From his perspective, the game has very interesting characters with great movie potential.
In addition, the creative thinks that the experience of working on something related to Fortnite it would be really entertaining. The idea is also appealing to players; however, Epic Games has not commented on the director’s proposal.
“The game is incredible. The characters… I mean, there’s so much more to it. It would be fun. It would be action-packed and everything,” Leterrier said.
A few months ago, Donald Mustard, creative director at Epic Games, stated that a Battle Royale movie is feasible. Unfortunately, he clarified that for now they have no plans to make it happen in the near future.
“I want to do things that always feel authentic and are a great story. It’s not something we’re actively working on right now, but I’m not going to say it would never happen. In fact, I know exactly the story that I would like, but it is not the focus at the moment, “said the creative.
