The first big thing in Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 – Turbocharged is the introduction of two new moves, which according to Milestone “add an extra layer of depth to the competition.” On the one hand we have the jump or double jump, a movement that can be used at any time and that is presented as a tool to overtake opponents or navigate through small spaces, and the skid, a movement action to the left or right with the one that can be hit with opponents on both sides of your vehicles. With these new skills you can also discover new shortcuts.
At the content level, Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 – Turbocharged introduces five different environments, including an arcade; a backyard of a residential house; a miniature golf course nestled in a Wild West town; a museum with reproductions of dinosaurs; and a gas station that houses a restaurant. Additionally, the title will feature the Track Room, which offers a special empty environment for users to design their own tracks in a neutral space. Regarding vehicles, the game expands its collection to 130 cars, including new classes such as ATVs and motorcycles.
“Each vehicle has a unique style and character depending on the category to which it belongs,” explains Milestone. Vehicles in the Rocket category offer higher straight line speed; the Balanced combine speed and maneuverability; the Swift is the lightest and most competitive option; the Drifters dominate the curves better than the rest; the Heavy-Duty class is made up of robust cars; and finally, the Off-Road category is used to conquer the most challenging tracks.
Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 – Turbocharged also incorporates a skill system to customize the driving experience of the vehicles. This option allows players to invest earned skill points into a skill tree with three branches, each focusing on different areas (propulsion, improved handling and improved ability to avoid obstacles).
