From Quito, due to the political crisis in Ecuador after the impeachment of President Guillermo Lasso, who decreed the “cross death”, and the consequent closure of the Assembly, our special envoy, Rodrigo Sedano, spoke with Leonidas Iza, environmental engineer and president of the Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of Ecuador (CONAIE). Iza expressed his position regarding the president’s decisions and the priorities of the indigenous movement in this crisis, among other issues.
