The Chinese manufacturer Gotion High-Tech announces a revolution in the electric car by 2024 with the production of batteries with great autonomy and duration. Some new batteries that promise to give the definitive boost to the electric car.
The Chinese manufacturer Gotion High-Tech has announced that in Serial production of a revolutionary new battery pack for electric vehicles will begin in 2024. These batteries promise a range of up to 1,000 km on a single charge, marking a significant milestone in the automotive industry.
According to the company, these batteries they could last essentially two million kilometerswhich represents approximately 130 years of average driving.
This is because the new cell of batterycalled L600 LMFP Astroinno, with manganese and capable of performing 4,000 full cycles at room temperature and more than 1,500 rapid charge cycles in just 18 minutes.
The Astroinno battery has adopted double-sided liquid cooling technology and an optimized design approach. These improvements have made it possible to reduce the number of structural parts by 45% and reduce weight by 32%. The minimalist electrical design has also reduced the length of the battery pack harness.
In addition, it has managed to solve the technical challenges related to manganese dissolution at high temperatures, low conductivity and low compaction density through the use of innovative granulation technologies and new electrolytic additives.
In this regard, the executive president of the international business unit of Gotion High-Tech, Dr. Cheng Qian, has declared: “The Astroinno L600 LMFP battery cell has passed all safety tests.”
A shift towards electric and shared transport
The studies consider that the combination of the longevity of the batteries and the autonomy will allow significantly reduce transportation costswhich could lead to a massive shift towards electric cars and ride-sharing.
In this sense, technological researcher Tony Seba stated: “The day we have tier four autonomous technology ready and approved by regulators, when that converges with on-demand and electric transportation, we will get what we call transportation as a service.”.
The convergence of autonomous transportation services and long-range electric vehicles is expected reduce the global car market by 75% by 2030according to Seba’s own forecasts.
