Ukrainian ambassador in Berlin announces shipment of 110 Leopard tanks to kyiv

The Ukrainian ambassador in Berlin, Oleksii Makeiev, announced on Wednesday that a new batch of 110 Leopard 1A5 model battle tanks will arrive in Ukraine “soon”.

Makeiev has launched a brief publication on his official profile of the social network Twitter where he has also attached a video of the tanks and a photograph of himself next to a tank.

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced at the end of February that Ukraine would receive more than a hundred tanks from its main European allies.

Ukrainian authorities have requested for months that Germany unblock the supply of Leopards by European countries that own them. Berlin finally gave the ‘green light’.
