Yesterday we reported that 4.5TB of patient data from the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona had been put up for sale on the Deep Web after being leaked by RansomHouse, a criminal group that infiltrated the hospital’s internal network to encrypt the internal systems of the health center, with all that this entails.
This led to a multitude of important treatments could not be carried out, with the health complications that this implies, At the same time that during the hack, the group obtained information that has been put up for sale. The plan of the Mossos d’Esquadra –Catalan police- is none other than to carry out a DDOS attack to bring down the web portal.
It should be noted that this same police force was the one that, after learning about the hack, I was convinced that they could simply delete the data from the Deep Web, something that shows the lack of knowledge that exists today in relation to criminal groups that carry out this type of action, as well as the way in which they operate.
