The release of The Day Before is delayed until November due to problems with the registration of the title

Jan. 25 (Portaltic/EP) –

fantastic has announced that it will delay the release of The Day Before, which was scheduled for March 1, until November 10 of this year; a modification that is due to a problem with the registration of the name and that has resulted in its disappearance from the Steam website.

The Day Before is a massively multiplayer online video game (MMO), an open-world survival game set in a post-pandemic America, which is swarming with infected and man-eating people.

The developer has commented through a statement posted on Twitter that Steam has blocked the video game “due to a request from an individual” that it would have filed an application to register that same name before the developer.

“As you know our video game was announced in January 2021, since the trademark of the game was available at that time,” he commented. By making this name public, this person “filled out an application” registration in the United States.

As a consequence of this confrontation between both parties, the company has decided to delay its launch date from March 1, as planned, to November 10 of this year.

“We now know everything surrounding this incident and We will resolve it“He insisted, while acknowledging that he is aware that many fans of the game have been disappointed.

On the contrary, according to the documentation of the United States Patent Office, the trademark The Day Before was registered in May 2021that is, about two months after the first announcement of the game.

As a consequence of this problem in the registration of its name, the video game, which is scheduled to reach PC, PlayStation 5 (PS5) and Xbox Series X | S, has also disappeared from the Steam website.

It should be remembered that this is not the first time that The Day Before has suffered a delay in its launch, since it was originally planned for June 2022. However, in May of last year, the company announced that it was moving it to March 1 due to a change in its technology, since it would be developed with the engine Unreal Engine 5.
