A passenger plane of the Russian airline Azur Air has been diverted to Uzbekistan as a preventive measure after receiving a bomb threat right now under investigation.
The flight, which covered the route between the cities of Perm, in Russia, and Goa, in India, ended up redirected to the former Soviet republic with 240 people on board, as confirmed by the Indian Ministry of Civil Aviation to the Russian agency TASS.
The threat was received by letter at the address of the Goa airport, who has advanced his intention to file a complaint with the Police.
This is the second incident of this type since the beginning of the year with the same company and on a similar route.
On January 9, another Azur Air plane covering the Moscow-Goa route carrying 244 passengers made an emergency landing in the Indian state of Gujarat due to a bomb threat that turned out to be false.
The passengers spent the night at the Jamnagar airbase while Indian intelligence agencies inspected the plane. They found no explosive.
