July 3 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The United States will deliver next year a first batch of 24 AH-64 ‘Apache’ helicopters acquired by Morocco from the manufacturer Boeing, which is a delay, since it was initially scheduled to be shipped in 2022.
According to an informed source quoted by the Moroccan press, to these deadlines must be added the time necessary to make the necessary technical modifications, although it seems that the delivery deadline, set in 2025, will be met.
In anticipation of this delivery, Morocco has begun to adapt the Khouribga military airport.
The purchase contract was formalized in June 2020 and includes the acquisition of 24 AH-64 helicopters, a model equipped with the latest communications, navigation, sensor and weapons systems that has been used in Iraq and Afghanistan. Each device has an estimated cost of 14.5 million dollars (13.9 million euros).
