Despite the fact that 2022 has fewer and fewer months to live, the launch of mobile devices does not stop. The manufacturers intend to end the year in style and today we have learned of a new proposal from an Asian company that, until a few months ago, was part of the enormity of Huawei.

The first thing to keep in mind about this device is that it is designed for the mid-range and, therefore, inside we find a Qualcomm processor that meets these characteristics. Its exterior may be deceiving since the curved screen with OLED technology is typical of the high range, but It is a mid-range device.

Curved OLED screen for Honor X40 5G
On the front of the device we find a 6.67-inch screen that has an OLED panel that curves on the sides to give a greater sense of immersion. The screen format is 20:9 so it is a panel that is longer than it is wide and has a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
The resolution of this panel remains at FullHD + or 2,400 x 1,080 pixels to be specific, it also has a maximum brightness of 800 nits. Leaving aside the technical characteristics, at the design level this screen looks like a high-end one thanks to the folds on the sides that make the frames tiny.
Honor has placed the camera for selfies in the upper left area, this being an 8 megapixel sensor. Unlocking this device is done by fingerprint which is integrated into the screen, the area chosen to place this footprint being the bottom of the device at a suitable height for use.
When turning the Honor X40 5G, what we find is a rear that has a quite particular camera module. This module is circular and the sensors of the two cameras it mounts are integrated into this module. The main camera is 50 megapixels with focal f / 1.8 and the secondary is a 2 megapixel depth sensor..
Snapdragon 695 inside with a good amount of RAM and storage
Inside the Honor X40 5G what we find is a processor signed by Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 695 which is the last of its name because Qualcomm has introduced the new Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 which will be the family of processors for the mid-range now onwards. RAM and storage options are various.
For RAM, it starts from 6 GB, goes through 8 GB and reaches up to 12 GB. As for storage, what we find are only two options: 128 GB and 256 GB. In addition, it has the option to expand the RAM virtually, which allows you to add up to 7 virtual GB of this fast access memory.
The autonomy of the Honor X40 5G is marked by a 5,000 mAh battery, which is a fairly considerable figure and which, at least in theory, should allow any type of user to get through the day with this device. The fast charge that it integrates is 40 W that, the truth, taking into account the capacity of the battery could be somewhat higher.
For connectivity we find what is expected in a phone with these characteristics. The first thing is that as its name indicates and unlike Huawei phones, has 5G connectivity which will make it possible to make the most of these networks, which are the ones that will be extended in the future.
Accompanying the 5G is dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS and in physical connectivity what we find is a USB type C, but not a port for wired headphones. The version of Android with which it arrives is Android 12although it does so under the Magic UI customization layer in version 6.1.
