Paul Rudd has finally addressed the wild fan theory suggesting how Ant-Man could have easily killed Thanos in 2019’s “Avenger Endgame” in one fell swoop.
Rudd, who plays Scott Lang-slash, the miniature bug in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, explained why the theory didn’t work out.
The 53 year old man appeared in a video alongside “Ant-Man” co-star Evangeline Lilly (aka Hope van Dyne and The Wasp) who plays on the Disney Wish cruise ship.
He touched on the idea that because Ant-Man can shrink to the size of an insect, he could have easily killed Thanos (Josh Brolin) by climbing up his butt.
“I heard a lot of conversations out there asking why I didn’t just shrink down, go in and… kill Thanos in a really creative way,” Rudd said.
“First of all: disgusting. Second, it is much more complicated than that. Join me in explaining — ”, asked the “Knocked Up” actor.
“If only we had the time!” Lilly-as-Hope added.
The video has circulated on social media with fans sharing clips from the promotional video when they were on board the cruise ship.
“I sat down to dinner at Disney’s Wish Marvel-themed restaurant and the FIRST THING HAPPENS is Ant-Man explains why he couldn’t blow Thanos up his ass. This is the best thing Disney has ever done, 100,000/10”, a fan tweeted on Wednesday.
Other joked:: “Thank you, Ant-Man, for trying to explain during dinner why it didn’t shrink and entered Thanos’ anus and then expanded from the inside.”
Someone else plot that Ant-Man could have easily made a trip into Thanos’s mouth instead of his butt.
The user wrote, “OMG the [Thanos] The theory is just stupid. Thanos wore tight pants. Ant-Man getting into his anus would have been a complete movie in itself. It’s obvious that it should have flown into Thanos’s mouth. That was open ALL THE TIME.”
