() — A magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck the northern Philippines off the island of Luzon on Thursday, according to the US Geological Survey.
The quake struck at about 10:19 am local time about 5 kilometers south of the coastal town of Hukay in Batangas province, about 100 kilometers southwest of the capital Manila.
There have been no immediate reports of damage; however, parts of Manila have felt the quake, the Philippine affiliate reported. Videos posted on social media showed people evacuating buildings in the capital, including the House of Representatives.
The quake occurred at a depth of about 124.2 km, according to the USGS.
