The Macao tourism authorities have announced that Zhuhai-Macao Island package tours will be launched in August, which will include various entertainment events, homestays and water activities.
Speaking to local media on Sunday, Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes said that tourists will board ferries from Macau to the picturesque Zhuhai islands, enjoying of a unique multi-destination travel experience.
This measure is intended to meet the growing demand for a wide range of tourism products and strengthen tourism cooperation between Macao, Zhuhai and the Greater Bay Area, according to statements by Fernandes collected by TDM.
Zhuhai has abundant island resources, such as Dong Ao Island and Wailingding Island, he added.
The 4.62-square-kilometre Dong Ao Island is home to several seaside resorts offering wedding and honeymoon services, healthcare, parent-child entertainment, private yachts, and eco-themed leisure projects.

Wailingding Island is a 4A-level national scenic spot with tourist attractions such as Lover’s Avenue, a stone park, rock carvings and beautiful beaches in Lingding, Tawan and Dadong bays.

In 2022, the tourism authorities of Macao, Zhuhai and Hengqin confirmed their collaboration to prioritize the development of island visits in 2023.
The “General Plan for the Construction of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin” stressed the need to strengthen the development of the surrounding islands’ tourism resources and boost yacht excursions under the individual travel plan.
