Zelensky visits Italy this Saturday amid extraordinary security measures

May 13. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelensky, visits Rome this Saturday amid secrecy about his agenda of meetings and extraordinary security measures, including the declaration of a no-fly zone, on his first trip to Italy since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine.

Italian media practically take for sure meetings between Zelenski and the country’s prime minister, Giorgia Meloni; President Sergio Matarella and Pope Francis, in the presence of a security contingent of more than 1,500 police officers.

Nothing will be allowed to fly without permission in Roman airspace, especially drones, while Zelensky’s route will be covered by snipers.

The capital’s airports, railway stations and metro will be under special surveillance throughout the Ukrainian president’s visit, which will end at night with an interview on the Porta a Porta program, on Italian public radio and television, Rai .
