The Ukrainian president considers the resumption of grain exports a success of his soldiers

Aug. 7 () –

The President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski, has pointed out this Saturday the silence of the Amnesty International (AI) organization regarding the attacks by Russian troops in the vicinity of the Zaporizhia nuclear plant.

“Despite the fact that the Russian bombing of the nuclear plant is one of the most dangerous crimes against Ukrainians and all Europeans (…), for some reason there is no report or even a simple notification from Amnesty International about it” , the president has criticized in the daily video addressed to the Ukrainian population.

The Ukrainian president has criticized, again, the work of the organization, after confirming a “significant worsening” of the situation around the nuclear power plant and requesting new sanctions against Russia “for creating such a global threat.”

Thus, Zelenski has asserted that it is “a very eloquent silence”, which “indicates once again the selectivity of the organization”.

These criticisms come two days after the Ukrainian president accused AI of justifying Russian attacks on Ukraine by publishing a report singling out the Ukrainian military for carrying out life-threatening combat techniques. civilians.

Zelensky assured that he had not seen such “clear and timely” reports from some international organizations on the “crimes committed by Russian terrorists.”

After this controversy, the director of the Ukrainian section of the NGO Amnesty International, Oksana Pokalchuk, announced her resignation in protest at the aforementioned report.

“I left Amnesty International in Ukraine. This is another loss that the war has cost me,” Pokalchuk made known in a Facebook post where he had regretted, above all, that the organization had not included a detailed opinion of the Ukrainian government in the report writing.

THE RESUMPTION OF EXPORTS, SUCCESS “OF OUR SOLDIERS”

In addition, Zelenski has assured that the resumption of cereal exports, after the blockade by Russia in the Black Sea, has been a success for his soldiers.

“We must not forget that the restoration of our maritime exports was possible mainly thanks to our soldiers, all those who protect Odessa and ensured the liberation of Zmiiny. These are just heroes”, he celebrated after explaining that the maritime export of agricultural products is up and running again, despite the “security risk” of continued Russian attacks.

The president has reminded his partners to fulfill “their part of the commitment” to guarantee security of supply. Thus, “the world food crisis will really be solved.”
