The president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, traveled this Friday to the Sumy region, in the northeast of the country, where he took the opportunity to meet with some soldiers who have fought in the Russian region of Kursk, where the Ukrainian Armed Forces began in August a ground raid.

“Today I began my trip to the Sumy region with a meeting with our soldiers, boys who fight in the Kursk region, protecting our border regions and the entire State,” President Zelensky said in a message broadcast through his channel. Telegram official.

Later, the president published a video speech on his social networks where he indicated that this same day he received an update on the Ukrainian military situation on the main front lines, including some areas in Donetsk, Kharkiv and the aforementioned Russian region. from Kursk.

“I am proud of the bravery of all our men, our warriors. It is important to understand that the operation in Kursk is truly strategic: it motivates our partners to support Ukraine, to be more decisive and to put pressure on Russia. Pressure that will help us to put an end to this war,” he stressed.

Zelensky has expressed his gratitude to the military involved in the operation in Kursk, where Ukraine controlled more than a hundred settlements and 1,300 square kilometers before the Russian Armed Forces had room for maneuver to develop an effective defense.
