Zelensky assures that Ukraine will continue to "reconquer" territories occupied by Russia

July 17 () –

The president of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski, assured this Saturday that his country will continue to “reconquer” those territories that are occupied by Russian troops, for which “they will continue fighting to recover the territory”, within the framework of the invasion of Russia that began on February 24 by order of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“We have already managed to liberate part of the territory that was occupied after February 24. We will gradually liberate other regions of our country, which are currently under occupation,” he declared in the daily video addressed to the Ukrainian population on Saturday night.

Zelensky has expressed that Russian weapons “will not be able to break the unity” of the Ukrainians, while pointing out the danger of “information weapons”.

“It should be equally obvious that Ukrainian unity cannot be broken by lies, intimidation, falsification or conspiracy theories,” he added.

Therefore, the Ukrainian president has suggested a “kind of emotional sovereignty” to “not follow the information game” of the enemy against the country.

“How many nerves are damaged by this constant reproduction of horror stories from Russian propagandists and officials. How much trouble Ukrainians create for themselves by trusting any anonymous source,” Zelensky lamented.

Zelensky also celebrated the 32nd anniversary –July 16, 1990– of the adoption of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of Ukraine by the Verkhovna Rada, the official name of Parliament.

“It was the first document of this level after many years, which confirmed the right of our people to live independently. Independently and democratically”, he recalled.
